Kickapoo Lady Chiefs Tennis Booster Club By-Laws Article I – Name This organization shall be known as Kickapoo High School Girls Tennis Boosters. Article II – Mission Statement The mission of the KHS Girls’ Tennis Boosters is to support the Lady Chiefs tennis team and its coaches, to encourage positive school and team spirit and to increase community awareness and appreciation of the team and its qualities. The booster club will work to achieve this through the active participation of parents, friends and team members in booster club activities and fundraisers. Article III – Objectives 1. To promote a high standard of integrity and good sportsmanship in all team events and booster club activities. 2. To raise funds through fundraisers, membership dues, contributions and donations from individuals and businesses. 3. To use said funds to assist with purchasing items needed for the team or requested by the coaches that are not provided in the school budget. Article IV – Membership and Dues The general membership shall not be limited. All parents, friends and past or present athletes are eligible for membership in the booster club. The voting membership will consist of dues paying parents that have a dues paying player on the team. Memberships can be categorized in the following manner: Voting – parents and/or guardians of active Lady Chiefs tennis team members Supporters – other family members and personal memberships other than voting members. Membership dues shall be determined by the booster club members. All members must pay dues. Dues shall be paid annually. Article V – Officers Officers shall consist of a President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. Committee chairpersons will be appointed by the President. All officers must be voting members. Article VI – Duties and Responsibilities of the Officers The President shall be the chief executor of the organization and will preside at all meetings held by the booster club. The President will appoint any selected committee chairpersons. The President shall act as the representative between the booster club and the school administration. The Vice- President shall act as President and perform the duties of the President in the absence of or by the request of the President. The Vice-President shall serve as the membership committee chair. The Vice-President shall keep a record of all regular meetings and make copies of minutes available to the President and Treasurer. The Vice-President will assume the office of President the following school year. The Treasurer shall have charge of all funds of the booster club and shall keep a full, accurate and current accounting of said funds. The Treasurer shall receive and deposit all dues and money derived from Club-sponsored fundraising projects; pay promptly all approved bills; file all paid bills; present a report to the club at regular meetings and give a copy of the report to the President, Vice-President, and, upon request, the school athletic secretary; and keep an account of all income and expenses of the club. All booster accounts shall be held in the name of the President and Treasurer. At a time specified by the officers, the coaches shall present to the officers a prioritized list of needed items not provided by the school system. The booster club shall then meet to give overall prioritization to these lists to determine the order in which requests are considered from the year’s fundraising. The overall prioritized list shall be used on making recommendations to the membership for the approval of expenditures of club funds. A copy of this list will be provided to the school athletic secretary upon request. Expenses not previously approved by the booster club and/or its officers shall be subject to payment by the purchaser. All items purchased by the booster club shall remain the property of the booster club for use by the Kickapoo Girls Tennis Team. Future use and/or dispensation of all items shall be voted on by the booster club. Article VII – Removal of Officers Should an officer choose to withdraw from the elected office during his/her term, the open position will be announced and nominations will be taken from the voting membership with an election being held during the next booster club meeting. The new member will only serve until the end of the membership year but will be eligible for nomination and appointment in the next election. Removal shall be accomplished by the voting membership with a majority vote of approval. Article VIII - Amendments These by-laws may be amended by any regular meeting by a majority vote of the active members present. When passed, amendments shall be effective immediately. Article IX – Dissolution In the event of a conflict of objectives that may occur between the booster club and the members or the booster club and the Kickapoo Principal or his/her representatives and such a conflict cannot be resolved, the organization may be dissolved by a majority vote of the voting members. Upon such dissolution, all financial obligations of the organization shall be paid in full and a final audit performed. Any remaining funds at that time will be donated to the KHS Girls’ Tennis Team as a whole. |
